Hyatt Regency Kinabalu has officially unveiled its long-awaited mobile kitchen at Kimanis Ballroom on 8 February 2018. Locally renowned for its quality and delectable food, diners can now experience Hyatt’s signature dishes anywhere in Kota Kinabalu and many areas within Sabah.
Born from ideas to further boost the catering services of the hotel, Chef Tunku Farazil, the Executive Chef, has been planning for six years for the concept to be fully realized. Being the first ever mobile kitchen offered by a hotel, Hyatt aims to bring the acclaimed Tanjung Ria Kitchen’s live open kitchen and other outlets from the hotel to diners’ venues of choice.
The mobile kitchen will focus on offsite catering events in the Kota Kinabalu city area within 15 kilometers of the hotel while also being flexible enough to reach many area within Sabah. Catering to all events for up to 200 persons to serve and prepare à la minute food preparation. The mobile kitchen concept holds true to Hyatt’s global food and beverage philosophy – Food. Thoughtfully Sourced. Carefully Served.
To meet the client’s requirements, a selection of cuisines are available to choose from such as Malay, Chinese, Indian, Western and Japanese. The menu can be customized to cater to coffee breaks, breakfasts, lunches and dinners for any event such as family days, corporate events, charity events, weddings and even anniversaries.
The event was officiated by Sabah’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Yang Berhormat Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun, also at the event was the Chairman of Sabah Tourism Board, Yang Berhormat Datuk Joniston Lumai, and the Chairman of the Kinabalu International Hotel, Datuk Gordon Leong. A few other distinguished guests were invited for the event which also happened to be in conjunction with Hyatt’s Client Appreciation Party.
The mobile kitchen will be utilised to provide food at the hotel when not in use for events. Friday to Saturday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 midnight and Sunday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
