Sabah Tourism Board celebrate the 100th year of Sabah Tourism Board Building on 16 March 2018. To celebrate this special occasion, an event was held at Sabah Tourism Board at Jalan Gaya.

Activities such as a night at Gaya Street, 100-meter roll cake, Post me a throwback, Vr Booth, and 3d projection mapping on Sabah Tourism Building are organized for the public to celebrate this special occasion.

The Building was renovated to accommodate officer of the Treasury, Audit, Bank agency and Post office in 1936. The building suffered some damage during the Allied Bombing raids and it was one of the only three remaining structures left standing after the raids. State Ministry of Tourism and Environment Development took over the building on 1987 after the Postal Department moved to its new premises in Jalan Tun Razak.
The Building was gazetted as a Historical Building by Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports in 1988 and restoration of the building start in 1989. The Building was reopened in 1991 and housed the Sabah Tourism Promotion Corporation.
