Sandakan is known as the seafood capital of Sabah. A trip to Sandakan is not complete without tasting some of the fresh and tasty seafood serve by the restaurants.

1) Sim Sim 88 Restaurant

If you want to enjoy the delicious seafood and sea view at the same time, Sim-sim water village is the best choice for you! Sim-sim water village is located just 15minutes drive from downtown. You can find 2 famous seafood restaurants at Bridge No.8. One of them is Sim-sim 88 Restaurant. Signature dishes of this restaurant are Cheese sauce prawn and fresh raw oyster.

2) Sim Sim Seafood Restaurant

This is another famous restaurant at Sim-sim Bridge No.8 we mentioned above. Besides of delicious seafood, you can also shopping for fresh seafood there! The fishermen would come back with their catches and sell to this restaurant. The locals here like to have their breakfast at the restaurant while waiting for the seafood which is fresh from the sea. And the best thing is this restaurant provides free cleaning services for the fishes you bought from them! Prawn crackers, Ikan Bilis, dried shrimps and salted fish also available at the restaurant.

3) Kenalanmu Seafood Restaurant

Kenalanmu Seafood Restaurant is another fantastic dinner place for seafood. This restaurant is a good place to have your wedding dinner, party or company event. Beside the restaurant is their open air steamboat restaurant.

4) Restaurant Ocean King Seafood

Previously Restaurant Ocean King is located near the Pasir Putih Beach, and they are one of the Sandakan tourist spot. However, after the kidnapping incident, they had move to IJM due to safety purpose. But don’t worry, their seafood still the top 5 in town! Beside the restaurant is their steamboat buffet restaurant and they got an air-conditioning room for wedding and private functions too.

5) New King City Seafood Restaurant

New King City Seafood also a good place to satisfied your cravings. They got some special dishes like Pumpkin seafood pot, “treasure in the sea”, Lobster fruits salad… Sound tempting right?

6) Empire Seafood Restaurant

When come to Empire Seafood Restaurant, you must try their signature dishes- Wat Dan Prawn Yi Mee (noodle with egg gravy) and steamed grouper slices! You will surprise that their price is cheaper than other seafood restaurants.

7) D’sandakan Seafood Paradise

D’sandakan Seafood Paradise served halal seafood dishes & seafood steamboat & grill buffet. If you want to taste the Malay style cooking then you should come to this restaurant! Their location is very near to Sandakan Airport.
