Shangri-la Rasa Ria Resort is located 40 minutes away from Kota Kinabalu City and is a perfect getaway for those who prefer to isolate themselves from the city lives. The Resort offer wide variety of activities on the premises. Check in to our Ocean Wing room was a breeze and we are please to find a spacious and well decorated room. Our room was located at the ground floor and have direct access to the Ocean Wing Pool area, perfect for those with children but bad choice for those who prefer to have more privacy. Ocean Wing Premier room offers unique private outdoor bathtub for two and a daybed at the balcony and 963 sqf of luxury. The other benefits of Ocean Wing are the pool just for the residents, the pool at the garden wing seems too busy for those who looking to relax. The room service clean and refill the toiletries twice daily and they use L’Occitane toiletries. There are also Nespresso Coffee Machine provide at Ocean Wing Room. thoughtful indeed.

One of the must do thing at Rasa Ria is a visit to Nature Reserve. There are many 4 young Orang Utan staying here before they move to Sepilok at Sandakan for their further rehabilitation program.
Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort is set on Pantai Dalit beach surrounded by 400 acres of lush tropical vegetation facing west. Every evening on during fine sunny weather, one can expect spectacular sunset view from the spacious beach.
After a spectacular sunset viewing, we had our buffet dinner at Coffee Terrace. They have special Roast buffet on Saturday night and for the price its totally worth it. They have lamb, chicken beef and duck roast and it taste superbly. We had our stomach fill up with wonderful food and the friendly service from the staff.
On the next morning, we had our breakfast at The Coast. The restaurant is not crowded as only guest staying at Ocean Wing have their breakfast at The Coast.
We spend 3 days 2 night at Rasa Ria and we totally love the whole experience. The staff are well trained and friendly. The hotels caters well for family as they offer wide variety of activities and facilities for the children. Couple looking for a quite romantic getaway may get annoy with constant kids running around the pool area at the Garden Wing.
I would highly recommend Rasa Ria Resort and if you can spurge, go for the Ocean Wing Premier room. You will not regret it.
