The visitor to Sandakan will realize that there is nothing much happening in the town area as much of the eatery is located in the housing area. If you happen to stay at the town and looking for a place to hang out, Balin Roofgarden is your best bet. Located on top of Nak Hotel (9th floor), Balin Roofgarden offers a lovely view of Sandakan town overlooking the sea with great atmosphere and good food. Get into the lift at Nak Hotel and climb 2 flight of stairs and we reached Balin roof garden. The best time to come here is during the sunset hour. Service is a bit slow but who cares as we indulge ourselves with the view of Sandakan town. Don’t miss it if you want to eat western food in a wonderful atmosphere for reasonable prices.
