D’Soka located alongside Kota Kinabalu – Papar road is a roadside no-frill restaurant but most importantly they serve good and delicious local halal Sabahan food.  Many popular local dishes are available and they also serve ambuyat (prior reservation needed).

Their specialty is Fish soup noodle, Kari Mee ,Chicken Liku, Daging Masak Hitam, Nasi Goreng D’Soka, Nasi Goreng Butter & Delicious Coconut Shake.

We ordered ambuyat set (minimum 2 person per serving) which come with ambuyat, Lime syrup, side dishes and condiments.

Ambuyat is a dish derived from the interior trunk of the sago palm. It is a starchy bland substance, similar to tapioca starch. Ambuyat is popular around Beaufort and Kuala Penyu area  because sago play an important socio-economic role for many local communities
