Kota Kinabalu, 13 July 2015 – Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu announced the launch of Le Méridien HUB on Sunday, 12 July 2015, a highly anticipated unique lobby concept that reinterprets the traditional lobby into a social gathering place. The transformation builds on the brand’s award-winning Arrival Experience and coffee culture, whilst awakening creative signature programmes. The newly launched Le Méridien HUB provides guests and locals alike a space to spark conversations and stimulate thoughts through physical and personal interaction.
LMKK - Lobby Entrance 1Elevated ceilings, open spaces, architectural lighting and plush furnishings define the hotel’s contemporary interior – the journey of discovery starts the moment guests arrives and explore deeper into the HUB. Through Le Méridien HUB, the Arrival Experience at Le Méridien consists of four elements: high impact arrival art; sensory experience, illustrated through Le Méridien signature scent; sound and use of light, through music by Nouvelle Vague in the lifts and candle-lights in the evenings; and UNLOCK ART programme, featuring artist-designed key card collections that provides access to a wide range of art pieces at Sabah Art Gallery, Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu’s local UNLOCK ART art partner. The new space encompasses a gastronomic epicenter, featuring Latitude 05, which houses a creative atmosphere by drawing guests to the sights, sounds and smells of the coffee bar. This is brought to life by a skilled barista crafting signature coffee using Illy, Le Méridien’s official partner.  Le Méridien’s signature restaurant, Latest Recipe opened on Monday, 13 July 2015 with offerings of daily breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets, in addition to the weekend hi-tea and signature breakfast, complemented with LM eye opener beverages. The all-day dining venue showcases a theatrical dining space, where food is inspired by a passion of seasonal ingredients and Sabah’s rich food heritage. Guests can look forward to live-cooking stations of Tampatan, Chinese, Indian, Western and Japanese cuisine.

Fiona Hagan, General Manager, comments, “The anticipation of four months has been worth every moment as we bring to fruition the many comments and feedbacks from our guests and stakeholders on their needs and preferences.  Our associates are excited and looking forward to sharing this fresh, new experience with them.”
